SEPPES Flexible Guardrail Construction Highlights

Four practical highlights show how the SEPPES rail, energy-absorbing structure, anchored base and controlled impact response work together in an industrial traffic protection system.

SEPPES flexible guardrail during a controlled forklift impact sequence

Controlled Forklift Impact Response

The impact sequence shows the guardrail deflecting when a forklift contacts the middle of the barrier span. Final selection should consider the actual vehicle mass, travel speed, impact angle and site layout.

Reinforced Polymer Rail Structure

A layered, internally reinforced polymer rail is designed to distribute impact forces across the section while maintaining a smooth, highly visible protective surface.

Energy-Absorbing Rail Deflection

The flexible rail and post system is designed to deflect during contact, helping absorb and redirect impact energy before returning toward its original position.

Anchored Base Connection

The post base is mechanically fixed to a suitable concrete foundation. Anchor selection and installation details should be confirmed for the slab condition and project loads.

Käufer-FAQ

SEPPES Flexible Guardrail FAQs

Find answers about flexible guardrail models, dimensions, customization, impact conditions, installation requirements and project quotations.

Wie wähle ich das richtige flexible Lagerhaus-Schutzgeländersystem aus?

Start with the area you need to protect, the required guardrail height and length, and the available installation space. Then compare the rail configuration, post dimensions and listed impact conditions for each model. Our range includes single-rail and three-rail designs, as well as a rectangular-rail option. For forklift traffic areas, provide the vehicle’s operating weight, travel speed and traffic layout so the configuration can be reviewed against your project requirements. For a step-by-step comparison, read our forklift protection barriers selection guide.

What specifications are available for the SP guardrail models?

The single-round-rail range includes SP-90C, SP-125C, SP-160C and SP-180C. Post outer diameters range from 90 to 180 mm, while rail diameters and wall thicknesses vary by model.

The three-rail range includes SP-90, SP-125, SP-160 and SP-180. SP-180 combines two 90 mm rails with one 125 mm rail.

For a rectangular-rail configuration, SP-80-180C uses a 114 mm diameter steel post with a 5 mm wall thickness, together with a 180 × 80 mm rail with a 10–11 mm wall thickness. Refer to the model comparison table for the complete flexible guardrail specifications.

Can guardrail height, length and layout be customized?

Yes. Guardrail height, rail length, tube diameter, the number of rails and corner configurations can be customized according to project requirements. Share your layout drawing and required dimensions so the custom warehouse guardrails configuration can be reviewed. Final dimensions and the applicable model specifications should be confirmed before ordering; the listed impact data should not automatically be applied to a different customized configuration.

How do I compare forklift impact data across guardrail models?

Compare the complete conditions, not vehicle weight alone. The model data specifies vehicle weight, travel speed, a 45° or 90° impact angle, and a rear-of-vehicle impact at the center of the barrier span.

Zum Beispiel, SP-125 lists a 2.0-tonne vehicle at 6 km/h for a 45° impact, oder 5 km/h for a 90° impact. SP-180 lists a 3.0-tonne vehicle at 9 km/h for a 45° impact, oder 8 km/h for a 90° impact.

These figures describe the stated forklift impact protection test conditions. They are not load-bearing capacities or an unconditional guarantee for every collision scenario.

Was sollte vor der Installation von flexiblen Schutzplanken überprüft werden?

Confirm the guardrail layout, base positions, installation surface and anchoring requirements before installation. The product information shows floor-mounted bases anchored into concrete, with anchoring adhesive and customized anchor hardware.

The specified 10.9-grade anchor hardware has a listed maximum tensile load of 16 kN. This is an anchor-related figure, not the impact rating of the complete guardrail system. Concrete strength, slab thickness and anchoring depth are not defined in the supplied specifications and must be confirmed for the warehouse guardrail installation project.

Welche Materialien und Farben sind für industrielle Schutzgeländer erhältlich?

The guardrail tubing uses a modified polymer blend. The round-post models listed in the specifications incorporate internal steel reinforcement, while the base assemblies combine metal, rubber and other components. Exposed metal surfaces on the bases receive a black coating.

The specified colors are yellow RAL 1003 und black RAL 9017. Confirm the color arrangement for the posts, rails and base components when selecting flexible safety barriers.

What information is needed for a warehouse guardrail quote?

Please provide your preferred model, if known, together with the required protection length, height and quantity. Include the areas to be protected, forklift type, operating weight, travel speed and installation conditions.

A site layout, traffic-route drawing or photographs will help explain pedestrian routes, vehicle movements and the proposed guardrail positions. Please also include your company name, project country and target schedule so we can review the warehouse guardrail system requirements and prepare a project-specific quotation.
